Getting around between areas

What about Petrovac?

Petrovac is technically outside Budva but worth mentioning: 20km south, it's the best option for families wanting a genuine seaside town without the Budva party scene. A small curved beach, a Roman mosaic site, seafood restaurants on the harbour, and calm evenings. If your priority is quiet over convenience, Petrovac outperforms Rafailovići at lower prices.

Frequently asked questions

Which area of Budva is best for families?

Bečići is the most practical choice - a long, Blue Flag beach, calm water, wide accommodation range, and significantly less noise than the Old Town. Petrovac (20km south) is even quieter.

Is it worth staying in the Budva Old Town?

Yes, if atmosphere and walkability are your priorities. The Old Town is the most characterful part of Budva, with the best restaurants and a unique medieval setting. The trade-off is noise at night and the highest prices.

Can I walk between Budva's areas?

Old Town to Slovenska Beach: 5 minutes. Slovenska Beach to Bečići: 30–40 minutes along the coastal path. Bečići to Rafailovići: 20 minutes on foot. Sveti Stefan requires a bus or taxi from central Budva.

Is Bečići better than Slovenska Beach?

Bečići is longer, less crowded, and has quieter surroundings - better if beach quality is your priority. Slovenska Beach is more central with more bars and amenities. Both are Blue Flag certified.

Where should I stay in Budva if I want nightlife?

Old Town or Slovenska Beach area. Most clubs and beach bars are concentrated in these zones. Bečići and Rafailovići are significantly quieter after 10pm.
